INSIPID ALLEGORY:
Insipid allegory came into existence as an attempt at creating a story through sound. Originally, it started as one volume. We chose the topic of water to feed off of for a creative outlet; something to build from. With a large archive of untapped record crates surrounding us, a spring break week off from any responsibility, a voice recorder to collect interesting sounds with, and a big bag of bliss, we set out to make something we could fit onto a mini CD-R disc (around 20 minutes long). With a large set of variety and different sounds to work from Noby One (Evin Horizon) crafted the introduction track and handed the mix over to Nous (Aud Vertical) to  begin the next, each track filling about 2 minutes of space; Evin making the odd number tracks and Aud making the evens. By the end of our week we had made a 20 minute mix of peculiar, lo-fi, avante-garde style instrumentals full of samples. We had come up with a large variety of ideas and events that were happening during each part to fill out a storyline for the piece, but felt it was best to leave it open for the audience to interpret what they felt was going on. With the first volume done, we really wanted to continue the journey of our sound story into a few new worlds. We decided to pull our next story out of the water and on to land, followed by a lift into the air and wind for the third, and finally shooting out into space for the last volume. The last three volumes were not made in a week like the first, but follow the same guidelines and idea to create somewhat of a story. Instead we finished each volume within the different seasons. All volumes fit onto one album. Tracks include:

Volume 1: Aquatic Quadrents - Water (Spring)
Volume 2: Avatierra Gardens - Earth (Summer)
Volume 3: Aeronautical Isolations - Air (Fall)
Volume 4: Astronautical Nebulas - Space (Winter)

Give them a listen and create your own story lines for each volume. Feel free to Download and Share.
